LostLink
Community guidelines

Help keep LostLink useful and respectful.

These shared expectations help make lost-and-found coordination clearer, safer and more trustworthy for everyone in the campus community.

What good reports look like

How members should behave

Be honest

Do not create fake reports, falsely claim ownership, impersonate another person or deliberately mislead the community.

Respect privacy

Do not expose personal data, publish private messages, pressure users for contact details or share sensitive item details publicly.

Use features responsibly

No spam, harassment, threats, discriminatory content, unauthorised access attempts or attempts to bypass rate limits and Admin checks.

Moderation and concerns

Authorised Admins may remove content that violates campus rules, mark reports as returned, and take other actions supported by the configured application. Admin privileges must be assigned only after institutional verification. The deploying institution should maintain a monitored contact channel and a fair process for review or appeal.

To report a concern, visit Contact us and share the listing title or URL plus a concise explanation. Do not include passwords, OTPs or identity documents. For urgent safety issues, contact campus security or emergency services.

Important: These guidelines supplement, and do not replace, your institution's formal student conduct, privacy and safety policies.
